Pearson: Get Our Home Form Right

Nigel Pearson is braced for a meeting with a Crystal Palace side intent on securing all three points when they arrive at King Power Stadium in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.
The Eagles have been impressive under new manager Alan Pardew, and with things getting increasing tight at the bottom of the table, both sides will be going all out to secure three points that could mean the difference between relegation and safety come the end of the season.

City have already met Palace at Selhurst Park this term – then under the guidance of Neil Warnock – with the home side emerging with a 2-0 victory that day.

Both teams have changed much since that meeting, and Pearson admits to being an admirer of Palace and the work of his opposite number, Pardew.

"Crystal Palace are a decent side,” he said. “Since Alan has gone in there they have had a very positive return. They have a lot of options and players with Premier League know-how.

"Whichever camp you sit in you will be hopeful your team wins and that puts on more pressure.

"At our best we are a difficult team to play against. We know they are a very capable side, we need to get our home form right.”

The Eagles proved formidable opponents on City’s last visit, and given the urgency of the Foxes situation in terms of gathering points; Pearson is predicting a lively affair.

"It was a very tight game won and lost by two set plays. There was not an awful lot in the game. It further illustrates the fine margins, we want to rectify that.

"We have an opportunity to go into that game with a very different side, they've added players to the squad but Alan's changed the playing style a bit as well.

"Both sides will be starting the game with the intention to win. I can't see it being a quiet game.”
