Ranieri: Character In Every Match
- City boss says his side must earn points before the ‘bad moments’ arrive
- The Foxes take on West Bromwich Albion in the Barclays Premier League at The Hawthorns on Saturday
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri wants his side to bounce back from Tuesday’s defeat to Hull City by showing their battling spirit against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
The Foxes are one of the Barclays Premier League’s in-form side, having recorded five wins, four draws and just one loss in their opening 10 games.
The City boss made 10 changes to the side that lost on penalties in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup at the KC Stadium.
And while Marc Albrighton was the only player that remained from the 1-0 victory against Crystal Palace last week, Ranieri wants his outfit to show their character in every game, regardless of the line-up.
“I’d like if they show a good character,” Ranieri said. “Okay, Leicester lost on Tuesday, now we have to react. This is a good spirit from everybody.
“It’s not important who played, they played Leicester. Lose or win, [we’re] Leicester. We have to show our character in every match, every second.”
That spirit has seen City recover from losing positions to earn seven points, while Saturday’s opponents have lost just two of their last seven Premier League games, registering five clean sheets in the process.
“In this moment everything is going the right way but not always it can be the same,” Ranieri added. “For us it’s important to take points before the bad moments. If they arrive we are ready.
“Our life is good because we do what we want to do. It’s fantastic. There is a lot of adrenaline, up and down. It’s good.”
