Focus was the message from Christian Fuchs after he helped Leicester City to a 3-1 victory over Manchester City that sent shockwaves through the Barclays Premier League.

It was a result that propelled the Foxes five points clear at the top of the table ahead of Sunday’s trip to Arsenal, and an away performance that ranks alongside the Club’s best-ever in the league.

A Riyad Mahrez strike in between goals from defender Robert Huth had the Foxes cruising at 3-0 up after 60 minutes, with the hosts struggling to keep pace with the energetic Foxes at Etihad Stadium, despite Sergio Aguero’s late consolation.

And while Fuchs allowed himself the opportunity to savour the victory, he was keen to point out that the team are already setting their sights on the next match.

“We just try to give our best, focus on the next game – nothing more, nothing less,” Fuchs told Foxes Player HD. “We are happy that we won the game but now the focus is on Arsenal.

“It’s unbelievable. Everything worked out [against Manchester City]. We’re disappointed that we didn’t keep the clean sheet even though I think the goal was offside.

“Nevertheless we played a really good game. Especially after the second goal. Then after the third goal we had a lot of possession, we kept the ball within our team.”

As well as a solid defensive display, Fuchs also played a key role in City’s third goal by delivering the corner kick that Huth headed beautifully into the top corner – a carbon copy of his goal against Spurs last month.

He added: “The first goal obviously helped a lot within the first few minutes and then in the second half the goals were very fast at the beginning. They were one after another and it helped a lot. I was very happy for Huthy (Robert Huth) because the corner kick worked out again.

“I think the coach said it already that it’s not only important that [Jamie] Vardy and [Riyad] Mahrez are scoring goals, but that other people are scoring the goals.

“This time Huthy did a great job, once with the foot – that was unbelievable after the free kick at home, and then with the header, which he’s known for. It was copy and paste from the Tottenham goal.”
