King Focused On Peterborough

Midfielder Andy King insists he is fully focused helping the Foxes secure another three points after a returning from international duty with Wales.

Nigel Pearson’s side face a tricky npower Championship test against Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough United at London Road on Saturday as they look to make it six wins on the bounce, and King is eager to get back into action.

The 24-year-old won his 15th cap for Wales in a 2-1 win over Austria on Wednesday night, coming on as a second half substitute, and is certainly reaping the rewards of playing with the likes of Gareth Bale for his national side.

“As long as I keep playing well at Leicester, which I’ve always said is my main concern, I’m sure that will bring international honours.” Said King.

“Especially with the chance of going up this season, it can push me on even further.

“You want to play on the biggest stage possible and I’ve been fortunate enough to do that for Wales against some big teams and some of the best players across Europe.

“With the team I’m in, they are outstanding - it’s only improving my own game and I’m looking to bring that back to the club with me.

“We’ve been on a good run recently but I think we’ve all said it from day one – the feeling around the place, the squad ethic and what we’ve got going on at the training ground, it’s something a little different.

“Ultimately it’s about doing it on the pitch and making sure we get there in the end.”

However it will be no easy task against a Peterborough side that don’t think twice about attacking in numbers and will be fighting to drag themselves off the foot of the table.

After a purple patch towards the end of 2012, the London Road side are now without a win in four and find themselves six points adrift of safety.

King added: “They [Peterborough] play really good football.

“They’re bottom of the league at the moment, but they were outside the relegation zone a few weeks ago.

“It’s so tight down there that you almost don’t want to play the bottom teams as the end of the season draws in because they’re scrapping for their lives.

“But we’re confident that if we can go and play the way we can, then we’re more than capable of taking all three points.”
