Leicester City’s Development Squad will face Carlisle United, Fleetwood Town and Morecambe in Northern Group A of the 2017/18 Checkatrade Trophy.

This month, the 16 groups, split into Northern and Southern quadrants, were revealed for all 48 Sky Bet League 1 and League 2 clubs. As part of the competition’s revised format, the 16 invited clubs, including City, will play their group stage fixtures away from home.
The Foxes, managed by Development Squad coach Steve Beaglehole, reached the first knockout round last year following a successful group stage campaign which included a 1-0 victory over League 2 outfit Grimsby Town at Blundell Park in October, 2016.
