The Foxes take on a talented Reds outfit that dispatched Crystal Palace 2-0 on Wednesday at Hong Kong Stadium following strikes from Dom Solanke and Divock Origi.
While City’s No.4 says it will be difficult against Jurgen Klopp’s men, he knows his side have plenty of strengths of their own.
“It’s going to be a test [against Liverpool],” said Drinkwater. “We know what their team strengths are.

“They’ve got a lot of them so it’s about us turning up and making a good start to the game.
“We’ve got to play to our strengths as much as we can and try not to concentrate on Liverpool too much.
“Again I think we can play on the counter well, so that will definitely benefit us.”
Drinkwater Looking Forward To Liverpool Final
Danny Drinkwater looks ahead to the Premier League Asia Trophy final against Liverpool in Hong Kong.
Wednesday’s clash with West Bromwich Albion ended in a 7-6 penalty shootout win and while Drinkwater welcomed the result, notching up minutes was just as valuable.
“Pre-season is mainly about fitness but when you’re playing against Premier League opposition in particular, it’s always nice to get the win,” said Drinkwater of Wednesday’s triumph.
“The game was difficult because it went through patches of possession for us and West Brom. Other than that, I think the manager was quite happy with the display.”
