Schmeichel Hails 'Perfect' Liverpool Challenge

The Foxes earned their place in the showpiece match at Hong Kong Stadium courtesy of a penalty shootout victory over West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday afternoon and will face the Reds at the later local time of 8:30pm on Saturday, something Schmeichel sees as a positive.
“Liverpool are a good side so we are expecting a tough game,” the Danish PFA Player of the Year told reporters on Friday.
Schmeichel Pleased With Intensity

“We count ourselves lucky we are playing the later game so we might find it a little easier in terms of the conditions. We don’t quite know what to expect [from the pitch] but in terms of the game we are up against top class opposition.”
City’s preparation has been as thorough as always and the Club’s backroom team have elected to run at just four hours forward from British Summer Time, rather than seven. That way, the players will return to England fresh and ready to resume their pre-season schedule.
“Obviously a change of seven hours is difficult for the body,” Schmeichel explained.
“But when you only change three or four hours it makes it easier. It does mean timings in the country are different. It is 9:45am for us now [12:45pm local time], our days are probably differently structured to other teams who go onto local time.
“At the moment it has worked well and everyone has been quite happy with it.”
On the likelihood that the trip to Hong Kong will be beneficial to City’s season, Schmeichel added: “We play against teams of the same quality we come up against every week in the Premier League.
"It is perfect for us in a lot of ways.”
