The second week of fixtures started with the Under-23s emerging from a daunting clash at Premier League 2 champions Everton with all three points in Merseyside.

Defender Josh Knight marked his return to Steve Beaglehole’s starting line-up with a 38th minute header, assisted by winger Layton Ndukwu, which ultimately sealed victory.

A duo of efforts from Reo Griffiths either side of the young Foxes’ glut of goals at Belvoir Drive were rendered mere consolation strikes as Peake’s men continue to impress in PL2 U18.

Speaking on Monday morning, Peake challenged the Under-18s to continue their promising start over the coming weeks, starting with Saturday's visit of Reading.

The Club’s involvement ended later on Saturday afternoon as goals from Shinji Okazaki and Harry Maguire helped a dominant City overwhelm Brighton at King Power Stadium.

Motivation was high within Craig Shakespeare’s side to recover from a frustrating opening day defeat by Arsenal – and that was enough to help them defeat Chris Hughton’s newly-promoted side.
