We Must Be On Form, Says Simpson

The opportunity to climb the Premier League table presents itself to the Foxes, who for Simpson must perform at their maximum to return to Leicester with more points on the board.

“Everyone knows at the moment that Manchester United are flying,” said the right back. “They’ve started the season by scoring goals and keeping clean sheets.

“Everything about them at the minute is positive and it’s tough to go to Old Trafford, no matter what team has been playing there the last few years. It’ll be a tough test, but it’s one that we’re up for.

“Every single one of us, including the lads that come off the bench, will have to be on our best form and our best game. They’ve got so many good players that can score at any moment.

“Everyone knows it’s tough but at the same time, I’m certain we can learn from our concentration in the Arsenal game and take that into the game at Old Trafford.”

The Foxes’ first Premier League triumph came over Brighton last weekend before a 4-1 win in the Carabao Cup followed on Tuesday at Bramall Lane.

Discussing City’s form, Simpson said: “It was professional against Brighton. After the Arsenal game, we felt we should have got something.

“It was massively important to get the points on the board and get the home win in front of the fans, especially with Manchester United coming up.

“With the cup game, any cup game is a tough test, whether it’s the Carabao Cup or FA Cup and whatever team from the Championship or League 1, especially being away from home as well.

“I watched the game and it was good to see some of the lads play really well and get some goals. It keeps the mood in the camp happy and going into this Saturday, that’s been important."
