While the 24-year-old did not feature for the Three Lions during World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovakia, it was nonetheless a hugely beneficial experience to join the squad.
Maguire has been in stellar domestic form since joining the Club from Hull City this summer, earning plaudits from across the spectrum of opinion over the past month.
“To get the call-up, to be around the lads for two great wins was a great experience for myself,” he told LCFC TV, following the 2-1 success over Slovakia at Wembley on Monday.
Experience Key For Maguire
Foxes defender talks to LCFC TV after being involved with the England squad for the first time over the international break....
“To get to know all the lads, all the staff, how they work... if I needed any more motivation, it’s given me that little bit more to crack on at Leicester and prove myself there.
“You come away with lads you are up against week-in week-out and they are opposition. To meet everyone has been a bonus, they’re a great bunch of lads and it’s been easy to settle in.
“They’ve welcomed me in great terms. Like I say, it’s given me motivation for Saturday [against Chelsea] and I can’t wait to get cracking again.”
I’ve got to prove myself there and, if we get positive results with positive performances, it can only lead to more call-ups.

Maguire, a graduate of Sheffield United’s academy, has also been pleased to see pundits and supporters alike pick him out for individual praise during the opening weeks of the new season.
“Positive press does give you confidence,” he added.
“It gives you real belief that you should be where you are so it was a really positive thing for me.
“Now I've finished with England, I'll get back with Leicester. I’ve got to prove myself there and, if we get positive results with positive performances, it can only lead to more call-ups.”
