City entertain the Reds at King Power Stadium on Tuesday for the first of two games in five days against Jurgen Klopp’s outfit.

Unused from the bench on Saturday, Dragović, 26, says he is eager to make his debut for the Foxes, but knows he must earn his spot in Shakespeare’s starting XI.

“When the coach gives me a chance in the first XI, I will be very happy,” said the centre back. “I want to give my best for the Club and the team, but this is the decision of the coach.

Dragović Focused On Improving Fitness

Aleksandar Dragović talks to LCFC TV ahead of Tuesday's game.

“He has a very good squad. I will always give my best in training and when he decides to put me in the first XI, I will give my best.”

Dragović reported back to the Club for the first time ahead the clash with Chelsea earlier this month following his involvement with Austria over the international break.

He continued: “I was with the international team and I played two games there. For my fitness, I played 90 minutes in two games. It was very tough to play in Wales.

“With the fitness I’m good, only I might just need a little more training in the gym. It will come. I will take my time and not pressure myself, so I only want to play football – that is what I had in my head.

I will always give my best in training and when he (Craig Shakespeare) decides to put me in the first XI, I will give my best.

“I was in the stadium against Chelsea and it was a very good atmosphere. I hope I can enjoy that in the future.”

A spot in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup is up for grabs on Tuesday, as City take on the eight-time winners of the competition.

"In every game, you must go in it to make a good result,” Dragović told LCFC TV ahead of the clash with Liverpool.

“It doesn’t matter which team, whatever their name, you can beat every team in the world. Nobody is perfect, so we must go into every game wanting to win.”
