Triumphs over Swansea City, Leeds United and Everton have seen the Foxes build momentum ahead of next weekend’s trip to Stoke City.

City’s display against Everton on Sunday exuded confidence and solidarity, with Gray playing a major role after being handed a start by new boss Claude Puel.

The winger told LCFC TV: “I think it was important that we carried on our form. We had two wins previous to this and we’ve kept up our momentum.

“It’s a good start for the manager and the boys to get the confidence up. We’ve got another full week to prepare for Stoke.

Everton Performance Was A Statement From Demarai Gray

Gerry Taggart discussed the performance of Demarai Gray on LCFC TV's Weekend Review.

“I’ve been waiting for the opportunities. I’ve had to wait a while so hopefully now I can get a good run of games.

“That will help me to get my momentum personally and also get my confidence up. Most importantly, that will help me to develop as a player. It was about getting the win today and we did that, so hopefully that can continue.”

Gray’s darting run in the build-up to Jamie Vardy’s opener set City on their way, before the England Under-21s international doubled the advantage shortly after.

Puel’s men had to do some defending in the second period, but their display in the opening 45 minutes proved to be enough for them to claim three Premier League points.

The wideman is congratulated by his team-mates after scoring City's second against Everton.

“That’s one of my attributes – that I can carry the ball up the pitch,” Gray continued. “It takes pressure off the team and luckily it ended with a goal, which was good. It got us into a 1-0 lead and from then, we didn’t look back.

“In the second half, we were under the cosh, but we saw it out and got the result.”
