The Spaniard netted his first goal for the Club in front of 2,300 members of the Blue Army at bet365 Stadium to open the scoring.

A huge chance to make it 2-0 fell to Iborra just moments later, but his effort was blocked and while Shinji Okazaki also saw a header saved by Jack Butland, Stoke levelled through Xherdan Shaqiri just before the break.

Riyad Mahrez’s excellent solo strike put the Foxes back in front on the hour mark, before substitute Peter Crouch headed in an equaliser for the Potters with 17 minutes to play.

“I’m happy because I want to help the team with hard work and with goals,” Iborra said of his contribution. “I’m very happy [to score].

“It’s a great moment because I scored and I celebrated with our fans. I’m very happy for them.

“I think that the team had a lot of chances. We only scored two goals but they equalised and Stoke is a very strong team.

“Finally, we added one point to our classification and I think it’s good to always add points.”

Iborra has been brilliant for the Foxes in recent games but on Saturday was forced off with 66 minutes gone after appearing to roll his ankle.

Discussing the problem, he added: “I’m waiting for the next few days to see the evolution [of the injury].”
