- Development Squad manager Steve Beaglehole was pleased with the 2-2 draw against Legia Warsaw
- While Leicester City's youngsters could and perhaps should have won, it may be a crucial point
- The Foxes are top of Group B with one game to play, against second place Sunderland next month

While the Foxes will be disappointed not to have taken all three points, such was their dominance of the clash, a draw puts them back atop of Group B with a game to play.

Layton Ndukwu and Josh Knight struck for the hosts at Holmes Park and the Under-23s manager saw plenty to be pleased with from his side in testing wintery conditions.

“It was a very, very dominant display,” he told LCFC TV at full-time. “I thought we started really well and we shouldn’t have been a goal down, but we were and it was a great response.

Beaglehole On Legia Warsaw Point

Steve Beaglehole reflects on the 2-2 draw between Leicester City's Development Squad and Legia Warsaw.

“We got two very good goals and we dominated the game, in terms of territorial advantage and chances created. It was a totally dominant performance and they’ve celebrated a draw.

“We could have won the game in the final 10 minutes so I’m absolutely delighted with the performance, we should have kept a clean sheet, which we pride ourselves on.

“Sometimes when you have games like this with chance after chance, I thought to myself they might get one and they did, fair play to them.

The main objective was to not get beat to keep our run going and it gives us a great chance of progressing.

“If we got that third goal, it could have been a heavy defeat for Legia.”

City face Sunderland next month, who are second in Group B, needing not to lose in the North East to confirm their safe passage into the knockout phase.

“The main objective was to not get beat to keep our run going and it gives us a great chance of progressing,” Beaglehole added. “We’re in a good position ahead of Sunderland.”
