We Are Ready, Says Confident Fuchs

The message ahead of this weekend’s Premier League encounter with Manchester United is for Leicester City to build on their performance against Manchester City, says Christian Fuchs.

- The Red Devils visit King Power Stadium for what will be City’s final home game of 2017
- Fuchs says his side will give their all to earn three Premier League points against Jose Mourinho’s men

The Foxes came up against Pep Guardiola’s outfit for the second time this term on Tuesday and while they were beaten on penalties, their display was praised by many.

Fuchs believes that Manchester United, meanwhile, will also be aiming to respond to their midweek defeat – a 2-1 loss to Bristol City in the Carabao Cup.

“We are ready,” Fuchs told LCFC TV. “Manchester City was a tough game and they also had some changes, but you should never underestimate those changes, because they also played a really good role.

“They’re playing for Manchester City, which at the moment is by far the best team in the Premier League. I think we can build up on this performance. Manchester United are very welcome to come here and we’re trying to give our best.

“They’re back to their strongest. They’re a good team and they should not be affected by the Bristol City game.

Training Special: Manchester United

The lads trained this morning to prepare for Saturday's visit of Manchester United...

“Obviously, they made a lot of changes, but it’s another Premier League game and they will thrive even more off coming back to show what side they are and that the Bristol game was simply one bad game in their season so far.”

While Fuchs and his team-mates are preparing to contest the first of four Premier League games in just 10 days, the Austrian says the busy winter schedule is one that he always looks forward to.

He added: “I think that’s just something you want as a footballer. You want to play as many games as possible.

“Obviously around Christmas time and December overall, it’s a very busy schedule. There’s not too much time for the family, but from a football perspective, it’s very enjoyable.”
