Despite the frustration of a 2-1 reverse at Watford on Boxing Day, City have shown in recent weeks, under the guidance of Claude Puel, that they can perform against the Premier League’s top sides.

Following a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, the Foxes held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals before securing a 2-2 result against United.

Iborra: Bounce Back

Vicente Iborra says Leicester City have the potential to beat Liverpool on Saturday.

“It’s very important for us because it’s a very important game against a top team in the Premier League and in Europe with high-level players,” said Iborra, previewing the clash with Jurgen Klopp's men.

“I think that we can win the game if we make it an uncomfortable game for them. We can win the game. They are in a good moment, Liverpool are always a difficult team to play against.

“It’s the Premier League, so all of the opponents are very difficult. We have had very difficult opponents in the few last weeks. We made good games against City and United.

“Now, against Liverpool, it’s the same. We have two days to work and improve some things. We’ll play against Liverpool with confidence and I think we can make a good result.

“We can make a good game and we can win. Our idea now is to work hard, improve some things and intend to win the next game against Liverpool.”

The Spaniard joined the Club from FC Sevilla in the summer and matches like this, he says, are the reason - with an exciting opportunity to play at Anfield next up.

“It’s good for me, it’s a new experience and a new stadium,” he continued. “It’s very important for me to play against Liverpool at Anfield.

“When I arrived here, I wanted to enjoy these stadiums, playing against these teams. Now, I have the opportunity, and I want to win the game.”
