A Fair Outcome, Says Beaglehole

Steve Beaglehole was understandably delighted with the way Leicester City’s Development Squad battled to a goalless Premier League 2 draw with West Ham United on Friday night.

- The Foxes drew 0-0 at Victoria Road to make it 19 games without defeat
- Beaglehole was pleased with the amount of chances his side carved out on Friday evening

While the Foxes – now unbeaten in 19 games – created a number of goalscoring opportunities, they had to settle for a point at Victoria Road.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall came closest to winning it late on, but Beaglehole says his side can be proud of the way they acquitted themselves in Dagenham.

“I think it’s a fair result if I’m honest,” Beaglehole told LCFC TV. “I think either side could have nicked it. I think we possibly had the best chances. Barnsey’s (Harvey Barnes) chance early on – I’ve seen him so many times skip through there and slot it in.

“Normally, that’s a bread and butter chance for him. Then, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, they got lucky because he hit it well and that was probably the best chance of the game.

Beaglehole's Praise For Battling Foxes

Steve Beaglehole spoke to LCFC TV to assess Friday evening's 0-0 draw with West Ham United.

“On the ease of the chances, we could have won it, but we’d have settled for that coming away here.

“That’s 19 games unbeaten. They’ve got good front players – the no.9 and no.10. They beat Manchester United 3-0 away last week and it could have been more. We’ve scored 13 goals in the last two games, so you wouldn’t have thought it would be 0-0.

“I have to say, I think both defences defended really well and I think it was a really tough game. It was more like a league game rather than a development game which is good for the players because their age now is such that they have to play in those games.

“I thought both sides showed a great resilience to not get beat and both teams could have won it.”

The lads that have played the last two seasons as scholars have learnt a lot. They’ve gotten stronger and the experience that they’ve got shows now.

Following a remarkable run, City are now just one point behind Premier League 2 leaders Liverpool, who still have to visit Leicester later this season.

“We want to play against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal – people like that,” added the Development Squad manager.

“We started the season wanting to be safe and we did say it would be fantastic if we could be safe by Christmas. That was a tall order after the last couple of years, but we did feel that the lads had progressed.
