The Foxes, who are just three points adrift of leaders Liverpool and two away from the Gunners in second, will entertain the north London outfit in front of the LCFC TV cameras.

After being forced to scrap for their Division 1 survival until the final game of last season, Steve Beaglehole’s Under-23s have made great strides in all competitions this term.

Their most recent outing came a fortnight ago with a 1-1 draw with Portsmouth in the Premier League Cup, a game which left them a point clear at the top of Group F after five games.

Even without Josh Eppiah’s late equaliser, City had already qualified for the knockout stages, but they must avoid defeat against Everton in Whetstone this month to confirm their place at the summit.

Following three successive defeats, assistant manager Ben Petty said: “In the last few games, we’ve not had the rub of the green and we’ve been a little bit disappointed by the end result.

“I think [it was] an error to go one goal behind and, considering the domination in the second half, we were well deserving of a point. On another night, we may have got all three.”

On Eppiah’s display, he added: “We hope it’s going to be a kick-start for him, he’s done well. He’s recovering from two years of lengthy injuries and the goal will do him the world of good.

“We thought he played well and he lead the line really well tonight.”

Petty was particularly enthused by City’s eagerness to chase a winner and, while they weren’t quite able to snatch a late goal, he was impressed by their ambition in Bagnor Regis.

“Even when we got the equaliser, we still weren’t content with that,” he said. “With five minutes to go we were pushing on and that Hamza [Choudhury] chance could quite easily have gone in.

Eppiah Over The Moon With Foxes Strike

Youngster Josh Eppiah spoke to LCFC TV following his goal for the Development Squad during Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Portsmouth in the Premier League Cup.

“Overall, we said to the players that it was more like us in the second half and we were back on it. We’re going to strip it right back to basics now.”

All of City’s upcoming Premier League 2 home games, including the Premier League Cup visit of Everton later this month, will be broadcast live and for free on LCFC TV.
