Gordon Optimistic Ahead Of Swans Clash
- Leicester City's Josh Gordon previews the Development Squad's next Premier League 2 fixture
- The Foxes travel to Swansea City for a big clash on Monday night (7pm kick-off)
- Gordon hopes City's 4-0 win over Liverpool can propel them to further league success
Following last week’s 4-0 victory over Liverpool at King Power Stadium, Gordon says City’s Under-23s are remaining mindful of the task ahead over the coming weeks.
“The lads are confident after that result against a big team like Liverpool, we’ve just got to take that into the Swansea game now and hope we get a result,” he told LCFC TV this week.
“We’ve just got to take every game as it comes now. We can’t think it’s won, we’ve got to make out like it’s a top-of-the-table clash, just like Liverpool, for each game we go on now.
Gordon Eyes Swansea Victory
Under-23s forward Josh Gordon sits down with LCFC TV to preview Monday's trip to Swansea City in Premier League 2.
“It’s going to go right to the end I think but we just got to just concentrate on what we’re doing. As long as we get the results, then hopefully it’ll work out for us.”
City travel to Swansea’s Landore training ground on Monday hoping to secure a third win in a row in all competitions, a result which would further strengthen their position in PL2.
Looking for reasons behind their remarkable campaign so far, Gordon pointed to the additions of Sam Hughes and George Thomas last summer as key factors.
“I think we’ve added some strength to the side, obviously getting Sam and George, Callum [Wright] too, and Hamza’s [Choudhury] taken us as captain as well,” he added.
“I think having these strong characters in our team has helped us all to come together and we all just want to work hard for each other.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute, I’m learning every day. We’ve got good coaches, Beags [Steve Beaglehole] and Ben [Petty], they’ve helped me and the lads have helped me really well.
“I’m enjoying every bit of it and I just hope I can keep pushing on now.”
