Iborra: Build On Brighton Victory

Following Kasper Schmeichel’s save to deny Glenn Murray from the penalty spot, Iborra headed the Foxes in front before Jamie Vardy doubled their advantage in added time.

While City were reduced to 10 men late on in Sussex, Iborra and his team-mates defied waves of pressure to see out the result and remain in the hunt for European qualification this term.

“I think we have to be ambitious, but with our feet on the floor, we have to play with ambition but we need to have humility,” the Spaniard told LCFC TV at full-time.

Iborra Delighted With Late Goal

Foxes midfielder Vicente Iborra talk to LCFC TV after his goal helped City to a 2-0 victory over Brighton on Saturday...

“Of course, we will fight to arrive in a certain place, but it will be very difficult because all the games are very strong, very difficult.

“The other teams play with our objectives and now we have to enjoy this win and start to work and try to improve.

"Of course, [the plan is] to win the next game at home [vs. Newcastle United] with our fans. We’ve had some games without wins and we want to win now.”

Iborra’s third goal for the Club came about following an excellent cross from Ben Chilwell, something the 30-year-old didn’t forget in his assessment.

“Yes, I am happy because I just want to help the team,” he added. “It’s important for winning the game and, if I can score to win the game, I am very happy.

“Without this cross, I can’t score. It’s very important, the cross… it’s very important, Kasper’s save too. It was very important, the work of the team.

“I think today was not our best game, but one important thing today is that we have not conceded a goal. We have players with a lot of quality and they can win the game with one chance.”
