Girls aged between eight and 16 looking to unlock their football potential can do so by attending the upcoming Girls’ Regional Talent Club (RTC) Annual Trials.
Since the start of the 2016/17 season, Leicester City has held the prestigious Tier 1 Girls’ Regional Talent Club Licence at local schools throughout the county.
The RTC sits within the FA’s Talent ID Pathway. Their remit is to produce England international youth players, with a view to them progressing to represent England at senior international level.
The trials consist of three stages, with stages one and two the open trials. During the open trials, talent is assessed based on ability demonstrated during the challenges within each session. The third stage is a closed trial and is by invite only.
When and where
Stages one and two will take place at Judgemeadow Community College (LE5 6HP) on the following dates.
Monday 4 June, 5:30pm until 7:30pm (U10s & U12s)
Monday 4 June, 7pm until 9pm (U14s & U16s)
Thursday 7 June, 5:30pm until 7:30pm (U10s & U12s)
Thursday 7 June, 7pm until 9pm (U14s & U16s)
Wednesday 13 June, 5:30pm until 7:30pm (U10s & U12s)
Wednesday 13 June, 7pm until 9pm (U14s & U16s)
Stage three, meanwhile, will take place at Leicester City’s Training Academy (LE2 8PB) on the following date (invite only):
Saturday 16 June, 9am until 11am (U10s & U12s)
Saturday 16 June, 11am until 1pm (U14s)
Saturday 16 June, 1pm until 3pm (U16s)
The trials are for girls aged between eight and 16 (as of 1 September), consisting of four teams broken down into the following age categories:
Under 10s (1 September 2008 – 31 August 2010)
Under 12s (1 September 2006 – 31 August 2008)
Under 14s (1 September 2004 – 31 August 2006)
Under 16s (1 September 2002 – 31 August 2004)
