After confirming the summer signing of Kelechi Iheanacho, the Foxes approached the new term on the back of an impressive pre-season victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
While City lost out at Emirates Stadium on the opening day of the season, they recovered with a first home Premier League victory of the campaign, defeating Brighton 2-0 the following weekend.
After dispatching Sheffield United 4-1 in the Carabao Cup Second Round, City would ultimately go down to defeat at Old Trafford as they went into the month of September.

Despite taking the lead twice at Emirates Stadium, Leicester City opened their 2017/18 Premier League campaign with a narrow 4-3 defeat to Arsenal on the opening night of the season.
Craig Shakespeare made one change to the side that beat Borussia Mönchengladbach a week earlier, as Riyad Mahrez came in for Demarai Gray.
Matty James, meanwhile, made his first start in 27 months for the Club.
The Gunners were ahead inside two minutes with summer arrival Alexandre Lacazette glancing in Mohamed Elneny’s cross from the right.

City were behind for just three minutes though, as Shinji Okazaki headed home from close range to make it 1-1.
Efforts came in from Danny Welbeck and Granit Xhaka shortly after, but it was Shakespeare’s men who would score the game’s next goal just before the half-hour mark.
Excellent work from Marc Albrighton saw the winger pinch the ball in midfield before delivering into Jamie Vardy, who from just three yards out made no mistakes.
Good value for the lead, the 2015/16 Premier League champions were desperately unfortunate not to head into the break 2-1 up.
Fuchs Looks To Take Positives

Sead Kolasinac broke the offside trap before squaring to Welbeck, who slotted in to level. The Foxes did not give up, though, and just 10 minutes into the second period were back in front.
Mahrez delivered a corner into Vardy and the England international got up brilliantly to head in his second of the game.
Kasper Schmeichel then had to pull off a string of superb saves to keep his side 3-2 up.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lacazette were both denied, before the Dane spread himself well to turn away Hector Bellerin’s close-range strike.
Very disappointing the way the game ended. Was tough to take. Take the positives and work hard next week to improve for next Saturday #lcfc

Arsenal’s pressure finally told in the closing 10 minutes, though, with substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud finding the back of the net.
The former converted at the back post on 83 minutes, before the latter nodded in off the underside of the bar two minutes later to win it for his side.

Leicester City recorded their maiden victory of the 2017/18 Premier League campaign by dispatching Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 at King Power Stadium.
The Foxes named an unchanged starting XI from the side that faced Arsenal on Friday 11 August, but it was City who this time opened the scoring.
Riyad Mahrez flew down the right flank and cut inside past Markus Suttner before seeing a shot blocked. Shinji Okazaki was alert to the loose ball and converted past Mat Ryan inside the opening minute.
Further efforts came in from the Foxes, as Wes Morgan, Jamie Vardy, Mahrez and Matty James all went close at a blustery King Power Stadium.

Brighton thought they had equalised midway through the first period, but after finding the back of the net, Glenn Murray’s effort was ruled out for offside.
With half-time fast approaching, City were unfortunate not to make it 2-0 as Okazaki sent Vardy’s low cross into the side-netting.
But Craig Shakespeare’s men didn’t have to wait much longer for a second strike.
Mahrez whipped in a delightful corner and centre back Harry Maguire rose well to head home past Ryan on 54 minutes.

After a Marc Albrighton strike was denied, this time a free kick, Kasper Schmeichel was called into action with around 15 minutes to play.
The Denmark international made a low save from Tomer Hemed in the late stages to help earn his side a first clean sheet of the campaign.

Lavery 83' / Gray 52', Slimani 63', 67', Musa 90+3'
A superb second-half performance saw Leicester City book their spot in the third round of the Carabao Cup with a 4-1 win against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Craig Shakespeare made eight changes to the side that beat Brighton & Hove Albion and while Ahmed Musa, Demarai Gray, Ben Chilwell, Islam Slimani and Wilfred Ndidi all had efforts in the opening 45 minutes, the first period finish goalless.
City responded with an excellent display after the break and were soon ahead as Gray weaved in and out of the Blades defence before slotting past Jake Eastwood with 52 minutes on the clock.
Soon after, the Foxes doubled their lead. This time, Slimani got on the end of a perfectly-weighted through-ball from Andy King before rounding Eastwood and firing home for 2-0.

Just four minutes after the Algerian’s first strike, it was 3-0 with Slimani again on the scoresheet to net a brace.
Gray delivered a brilliant cross from the right and City’s No.19 was there to tap home at the back post.
While City were in control, Chris Wilder’s men pulled one back with seven minutes to play through Caolan Lavery, whose cross fooled everyone and found the back of the net.
Slimani came close to netting a hat-trick just moments later but saw his shot blocked and it was Musa who would round off the scoring in the Steel City.
The Nigerian’s first effort was denied, but he was there to tuck home the rebound to make it 4-1.

Manchester United scored twice in 12 second-half minutes to defeat Leicester City in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
Craig Shakespeare fielded the same side that beat Brighton & Hove Albion in their last Premier League outing, with Harry Maguire, fresh from an England call-up, declared fit for the clash.
Jose Mourinho’s men, aiming to protect their 100 per cent start to the Premier League campaign, flew out of the blocks as Henrikh Mkhitaryan saw a shot blocked by Wes Morgan, before Kasper Schmeichel clawed Juan Mata’s effort out of the top corner.

The Foxes responded well and it was Shinji Okazaki who would draw David De Gea into his first save of the afternoon midway through the first period – the Japan international having his low drive held by the Man Utd stopper.
A flurry of efforts from Paul Pogba followed, with two flying wide before Schmeichel was on hand to deny the Frenchman from a tight angle shortly after.
There was still time before the break for Romelu Lukaku to register attempt, but the Belgian nodded wide of the mark.
Albrighton Takes Positives From Defeat
Leicester City midfielder Marc Albrighton talks to LCFC TV after the Foxes' 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford against Man Utd on Saturday...
The hosts began the second period just as they had the first and before long were awarded a penalty after the ball struck Danny Simpson’s hand in the City area.
Lukaku stepped up, but Schmeichel produced a save right out of the top drawer to deny the Man Utd frontman.
Riyad Mahrez came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock with 67 minutes gone as the Algerian slipped past Red Devils left back Daley Blind before flashing his strike across the face of goal.
But, from a corner, Mourinho’s outfit took the lead shortly after. Mkhitaryan delivered from the right and substitute Marcus Rashford was on hand to fire home with just 20 minutes to play.
Good effort from the lads today against a strong Man Utd team in form. We will keep going #lcfc 🦊

Demarai Gray, who scored a stunning goal in this fixture last term, then saw his low strike saved by De Gea, before Lukaku lifted over at the other end.
For all City’s resilience, they would go on to concede a second on 82 minutes.
Jesse Lingard cut in from the left and it was Marouane Fellaini who was on hand to turn the ball past Schmeichel to round off the scoring.
Vardy was on target twice at Emirates Stadium.
