Morgan: Positive Pre-Season Progression

The Foxes drew 0-0 with the Turkish Super Lig outfit at Stadion Villach Lind, with the best opportunity of the game falling to Leonardo Ulloa, who struck the crossbar with a bullet header.

Skipper Morgan played just over 60 minutes in the stalemate, leading his side to their first clean sheet of pre-season.  

Speaking to LCFC TV, the captain said: “First and foremost, we’re trying to build up our fitness and get to the 90-minute mark.

“Most of the lads played 60 minutes today [Wednesday], it was tough conditions, but all in all it was a good run out I feel. There’s obviously plenty to work on but there’s lots of positives in there as well.

“We kept a clean sheet, it’s always good from a defensive point of view to start on a good note by keeping the goals at bay and that’s what we did today.

“They did have a couple of half chances and the ‘keeper stood up and was there to save them but all in all we kept them quiet throughout the game and it was a good start.”

Morgan outlined debutant Danny Ward’s performance against the Turkish outfit, with the Wales international making two fine stops in the first period.

“I think the ball came straight at him but he was ready for the danger,” Morgan reflected on the first save.

“They were crucial saves most definitely so a good stop for him and I think he had a good game as well.”
