Their final action of the trip will be to take on Serie A outfit Udinese on Saturday at Wörthersee Stadion, before heading back to England after the match.

“It’s always good to be back, I’m happy to be back with the guys,” Iheanacho told LCFC TV. “I’ve been working pretty well since Thursday night so it’s one full week. It’s been hard working and training.

“We have to work, so we’re looking forward to the game against the side we’re going to play – Udinese.

Iheanacho: Good To Be Back

Kelechi Iheanacho talks to LCFC TV about getting back to work and facing Udinese in a pre-season friendly.

“I think the boys have really worked hard since they have come back and we’re coming back now. We’ve been running – you know what pre-season is like, running, working hard and playing as well. We’ve been working hard so we’ll be good to go this season.”

The former Manchester City man featured in all three of Nigeria’s fixtures at the World Cup, including the 2-0 win over Iceland.

“I think it was a good experience at the World Cup,” he said. “We didn’t get the chance to go through but I think it was a good experience for us as a young team.

“I’m looking forward to the next World Cup. We’re back and ready now.”

I think it will be a really good test for the team and the boys. Everyone is raring to go and ready.

Assessing Udinese, Iheanacho added: “They are a good side. I haven’t watched them that much but they will be a good side. I think it will be a really good test for the team and the boys. Everyone is raring to go and ready.

“Everyone needs a game and everyone needs to play. It’ll be good for me to get a few minutes and to see the level of fitness we’re at. We’ll move on from there.”
