The Leicester City winger played the opening 33 minutes during the slender loss to the Serie A outfit at Wörthersee Stadion.

A total of 23 Foxes featured in Klagenfurt and Albrighton believes that will stand the squad in good stead ahead of their 2018/19 Premier League campaign.

“That's what he (Claude Puel) was looking at today," he said. "I think he wanted to give as many people game time as possible. We've got a lot of players that are at different stages of their pre-season.

“Obviously, some have been away with their countries so have come into it a little bit later and then lads that have been here and done the full three or four weeks. Everyone is at different stages and the main thing was minutes.

“I felt good. It's just good to be back on a football pitch it's never nice missing training, missing games but it's just nice to be back out there.”

Another opportunity to feature follows on Wednesday, when City host Valencia on Filbert Way, before their final fixture of pre-season away to Lille three days later.

I'm sure the Leicester fans have missed football as much as the players have so they'll be eager to get down and watch some football and you've got good quality opposition such as Valencia coming so it's all positive.

He added: “I'm sure the Leicester fans have missed football as much as the players have so they'll be eager to get down and watch some football and you've got good quality opposition such as Valencia coming so it's all positive.

“As footballers, pre-season is not the nicest of times but that's where you build your fitness for the whole season so this is your base and we build from here.”
