Dewsbury-Hall Keen To Make The Next Step

- However, Dewsbury-Hall took a lot of positives from the experience at Goodison Park
- Several of the Club's Development Squad have already risen to the first team

The 19-year-old Leicester local returned from injury to start alongside Hamza Choudhury and Andy King in midfield during a 1-0 Premier League 2 defeat at Everton on Monday evening.

While the disappointment of losing out at Goodison Park was still raw, Dewsbury-Hall reflected on the experience of playing closely with two players to have represented the senior side.

“It was really good, Andy’s very experienced and knowledgeable about the game so he talked to me the whole game about my position,” he told LCFC TV.

“It’s just nice to have someone in there that’s been at the top level his whole career.

“It’s nice to bounce off him, which is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid, growing up and watching him play in the first team so it was a pleasure.”

Running out at grounds like Goodison Park, following last week’s opener at King Power Stadium, is something Dewsbury-Hall admits has been a long-term ambition.

The Premier League 2 set-up allows young players up and down the country to walk in the footsteps of established professional players – something he says he wants to experience more.

“It’s fantastic, as a kid it’s what you want to do,” he added. “You want to come to the big stadiums, play the good teams and put on a good performance.

“We did that today, but unfortunately we just didn’t get anything from the game and that’s the most annoying thing.

“I just want to kick on and put some good performances in, be a regular on the teamsheet and see where it goes from there.

“The first team isn’t far away so I just want to keep pushing and hopefully get in the mind of the manager and get my opportunity soon.”
