After a two-week international break, the Foxes resume their Premier League campaign at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday (3pm BST kick-off).

Opponents Bournemouth have yielded seven points from their opening four games, beating Cardiff City and West Ham United, as well as earning a 2-2 draw against Everton.

The Foxes, meanwhile, sit just a point and two positions behind the Cherries having defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton in August.

“I like their philosophy and their style of play because they work hard and they are an example for a lot of teams with good stability in the club,” Puel told the media on Thursday.

“They have a good development of their players and squad. They keep their players and build a good philosophy and it will be a tight game because they started very well in their play and mentality. It will be a strong challenge for us.”

Last time out, City were edged 2-1 by Liverpool at King Power Stadium and Puel wants his side to start Saturday’s game on the south coast with a real intensity.

“I think we have to improve about our beginning of the game since the kick-off because we concede goals and chances, and then we have to come back into the game,” he added.

They keep their players and build a good philosophy and it will be a tight game because they started very well in their play and mentality.

“It was the case against Liverpool and [Manchester] United, and against Wolves also it was difficult at the start of the game.

“Of course, we have correct this situation because after we show a lot of positive things and quality, the spirit and mentality, the recovery of the ball and our play.

“It is a shame to start too slow. We have to correct this of course because after we play an encouraging game with a good mentality with a lot of opportunities to score and make the difference. We have to learn and correct this.”
