Ricardo Pereira’s fine solo strike cancelled out Richarlison’s early opener, before Morgan was shown a second yellow card on 63 minutes.

While defiant following that moment, Gylfi Sigurdsson’s screamer sealed three Premier League points for the visiting side.

Puel told LCFC TV: “We’re disappointed of course, we didn’t start the game with enough tempo, it’s another time we conceded a goal after six minutes. It’s too difficult after and we are giving ourselves a mountain to climb, we have to correct this.

“After, I think our second half was better, the beginning of the second half had good intensity, we had good chances and we had chances to score to make the difference and after the sending off, it changes the game.

“Another game and we conceded a fantastic goal from the opponent and it’s a shame. I think different things, it’s a game with good balance, both teams can win the game and the sending off changed the game and gave them the opportunity to win.”

Down to 10 men, the Foxes could have salvaged a draw after Daniel Amartey headed just inches wide in injury time.

With Daniel Amartey, we can come back into the game and we can score. It was a good opportunity for the squad because they worked a lot today.

“At the end, we had the last chance – 10 men against 11 after a good corner for us,” added the Frenchman.

“With Daniel, we can come back into the game and we can score. It was a good opportunity for the squad because they worked a lot today.

“Of course, without the good process at the beginning of the game, after it was not bad. It was a tough game, a good opponent and it’s a shame. We have a lot of disappointment.”
