Following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Watford, City head to Craven Cottage to tackle Fulham on Wednesday with just one point separating them from sixth.

The Foxes are on a six-game unbeaten run in all competitions since mid-October and, while four of those games have ended in draws, Chilwell says performances have been pleasing.

“Even though we’ve not played as well as we could have, we’ve managed to get the results,” the England international explained, speaking at Belvoir Drive.

Chilwell Looks Ahead To Fulham Test

“The effort has been 100 per cent there. The Brighton game’s a good example of that, where we’ve gone down to 10 men, gone 1-0 down quite early in the game and we’ve ended up getting a draw.

“If you said to any of us in the 20th minute of the game, when Madders [James Maddison] got sent off, that that was going to be the case, I think we’d have definitely taken that.

“The effort’s there and although we haven’t been getting the wins that we would have liked, the performances are there and with the run we’ve got coming up over Christmas, we can get a lot of points.”

City’s camaraderie, meanwhile, is also likely to play a key part in any success Claude Puel’s men enjoy this season, Chilwell believes.

“Me, Madders [Maddison] and Dimi [Demarai Gray] are all good friends off the pitch and like to do a lot of stuff off the pitch socially,” he continued.

“The rest of the team as well, it is a great changing room at the moment with a good balance between a lot of young players and the older players as well.

“They’re very good and help us out, not just on the pitch, but off the pitch as well. We’re a very tight dressing room and I think that can only be a positive thing when you step onto the pitch.”
