With Steve Walsh, Matt Elliott and Filbert Fox in attendance, the Club’s Supporter Engagement team and LCFC Community Trust linked up with New York Foxes – City’s most prominent local fans group.

The day started with a stroll through some of New York’s most iconic landmarks, past the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Centre, before reaching Pier 17 on the banks of the Hudson River.

It was there where the Premier League, in coordination with host broadcaster NBC, hosted over 2,500 supporters of several top flight clubs for a day which included eight fixtures.

Of course, City’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur was the final act – drawing possibly the largest and most boisterous crowds as the sun set over the Statue of Liberty in the far distance.

Elliott & Walsh Meet Foxes Fans At New York Fan Fest

Leicester City icons Matt Elliott, Steve Walsh and Filbert Fox met hundreds of Foxes fans in Manhattan on Saturday, as part of the' Premier League Mornings Live' event.

Following two days in the city that never sleeps – where Elliott and Walsh visited a Brooklyn elementary school, met world-famous New York Mets mascot Mr Met, and toured one of the world’s most iconic cities – the Foxes legends were thrilled to meet supporters in Manhattan.

“This trip as a whole has been unbelievable but this tops it off,” said Elliott, whose brace in 2000 sealed the Club's third League Cup success.

“What an event, it was superbly run. The amount of people that have turned up, some of them leaving at 6am this morning.

“City fans have turned up, as we can hear, making lots of noise and it’s just been great to be around them and to see how far-reaching Leicester City’s influence actually goes.”

I was walking down through town this morning, just having a look in a few shops, and everyone who was walking past were saying ‘Leicester City!’ – unbelievable, it really is.

Walsh, meanwhile, who scored the goal that saw the Foxes secure promotion in 1994, was amazed by the size of the crowds drawn by the Club so far away from home.

He added: "It was great just to see that there were that many people from different parts of the world.

"Leicester City are firmly on the map, all over the world, now. I actually did not realise how many people that are Leicester fans [in the United States].

"I was walking down through town this morning, just having a look in a few shops, and everyone who was walking past were saying ‘Leicester City!’ – unbelievable, it really is."

Shortly afterwards, meanwhile, the Foxes duo headed across town to Madison Square Garden to meet up with Larry Johnson, a two-time NBA All-Star basketball icon.

Walsh & Elliott Shoot Hoops At Madison Square Garden

Leicester City legends Steve Walsh and Matt Elliott headed to the home of New York Knicks on Saturday night...

City's travelling party were there to experience the New York Knicks' clash with Brooklyn Nets alongside Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer and Brazilian former Barcelona and Real Madrid star, Ronaldo.

Afterwards, though, Walsh and Elliott were invited down on to the court to shoot some hoops in one of the most famous and impressive sporting venues in the world.

With only one shot each, Walsh and Elliott limbered up and tried to tick netting at Madison Square Garden off their bucket list. One missed – and Steve wants the record to state that it wasn’t him.

On Sunday morning, the busy schedule continued with a five-a-side football tournament at Brooklyn-based venue SoFive, before Foxes fans travel into Manhattan for a very special Q&A event in the evening.
