Leicester City will travel to Newport County in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round after the League Two side won a replay with Wrexham on Tuesday night.

After a 0-0 draw at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground in the initial tie, The Exiles ran out 4-0 winners at home – with all four goals coming in the second half after the visitors were reduced to 10 men on 12 minutes.
City’s fixture at Rodney Parade will take place on Sunday 6 January, 2019 (KO 4:30pm), with the match to be broadcast live on BBC One.
Managed by former player Mike Flynn, the League Two side are currently sixth in the table and just three points adrift of the automatic promotion spots after a strong start to the campaign.
The Foxes last met Newport County in the 1946/47 Division Two season, winning 3-0 at home and 3-2 away. They also met in an FA Cup tie in January 1920, when City won 2-0 at home in a replay after a 0-0 draw.
Newport County play their home games at Rodney Parade, which has a capacity of 7,800 and is also home to two rugby union sides. It is the second-oldest sports venue in the Football League after Preston North End’s Deepdale and has been Newport’s home since May 2012.
Last season, City defeated Fleetwood Town, Peterborough United and Sheffield United before exiting the competition in extra-time against eventual winners Chelsea.
