Admiral Muskwe’s 35th-minute strike at Colney Training Centre levelled an opener from Spencer Keller to seal a fifth point for the Foxes after four games in Group D.

Despite being unbeaten in eight matches, Beaglehole, the Club’s Senior Professional Development Phase Coach, says he expects a better standard of performance.

“I think it was a sloppy start, I didn’t think we started at the right tempo,” he told LCFC TV.

“We went down to a poor goal where we didn’t defend properly around the box, which is not like us.

“Then, of course, away from home if you go down a goal 10 minutes into the game then you make it difficult for yourself.

Ughelumba clears the danger for the Foxes.

“It was quite scrappy... then I thought we got really into the game, we dominated and had several chances, where we should have put the ball in the back of the net.

“We should have been 1-0 up previous to that when Alex Pascanu had a header four or five yards out and just really needed to put his head through it.

“But we got into the game and we got the goal back, a great goal from Adi [Muskwe].”

However, Beaglehole acknowledges that an eight-game unbeaten run is impressive at any level and backed his young side to extend that run over future weeks.

“As a team we didn’t lose, that’s eight games unbeaten, which in any standard of football is good,” he continued.

The youngsters in the group and the performance of Luke. Also, Adi scoring a goal again, it was great after the number of games he’s missed over the last two years.

“It’s good to be consistent in terms of not losing games. For me the best player on the pitch tonight was Luke Thomas, a young player, captain of the Under-18s.

“I played him out of position because Bassey [Calvin Ughelumba] has been playing well for us at left-back.

“But he showed more composure than our senior players, better decision-making at times and I was pleased with him.

“Ed [Edward Elewa-Ilpakwu] came on, another Under-18s youth team player, and for me, they’re the positives tonight.
