The Foxes, despite being down to 10 men since the fourth minute following Harry Maguire’s red card, won 2-1 after Morgan headed home on 90 minutes to seal all three Premier League points in unlikely circumstances.
James Maddison’s brilliant free-kick put City in front in the Lancashire rain before Dwight McNeil levelled with a neat finish just minutes later.
But Morgan latched onto Youri Tielemans’ delivery to nod past Tom Heaton in front of over 2,400 members of the Blue Army.
Morgan told LCFC TV: “It wasn’t easy, especially coming off the bench and having to play a part in the game from such an early stage.
“You always have to be ready. I came on and tried to get in the game as quickly as possible. It wasn’t easy, the conditions weren’t great.
“Burnley, you know what they’re all about, they’re very physical, very direct and you have to deal with that. It was a fantastic performance from the boys, we dealt with it and we won the game.”
Morgan believes City displayed good game management and patience to ensure they gave themselves a fighting chance to secure a triumph.
He continued: “We knew we wouldn’t get as much possession as we would like having 10 men and sometimes you have to be patient, sit in a low block and wait for opportunities to get the ball.
“When you do get the ball be calm, be collected on the ball and try and play your way out and try and release some of our quicker players, our more dynamic players to try and get a chance at the goal.
“That’s basically the plan and for most parts of the game that did work. We didn’t create many chances but we kept them quiet.
“I know there was a few shouts for penalties but I think the referee got the correct decisions on all of them and if you stick in the game at some point you’ll get a chance and it depends if you can take that chance and we did.”
Morgan’s late header sparked joyous scenes in the away end at Turf Moor, as the Club’s fans saw their six-hour round trip rewarded with all three points.
The skipper added: “We battled throughout the game. It wasn’t easy, Burnley threw everything they had at us and we had a lot to deal with.
“When you put so much into the game and it gets to the end and you score a last-minute winner like that it sparks those kinds of emotions, those kinds of celebrations.
“It meant so much to the boys and we felt that we got something out of the game that we deserved and to score that goal in front of the fans was especially good.”
