About The Role

Based at Leicester City's Training Ground, the key duties of this role include planning, developing and organising regular strength and power sessions to improve athletic development and build resilience against injury throughout the Club's first team squad. Opportunities will also arise to work with injured players throughout the rehabilitation process, overseeing indoor conditioning and the progressive re-introduction to strength and power exercises. We place a strong emphasis on regular and objective monitoring/testing in order to inform our decision making but also to provide feedback for players in order to create buy-in. As a result, this role requires the imagination to present data across a variety of mediums. Working closely with the Head of Fitness & Conditioning and the First Team Strength and Power Coach, we hope to provide a good working environment that allows opportunity for personal development. Whilst the role is ideal for someone who is in the earlier stages of their career pathway, we will expect the candidate to demonstrate two or more years’ experience working in a similar role working within professional sport. The candidate would be expected to have demonstrated a keen desire for professional development in terms of seeking to attain a broad array of coaching and programming skills. Ideally someone who is actively working towards developing along the UKSCA professional standards framework. They will be able to demonstrate that they have the both the technical ability and confidence to coach individuals through Strength and Power exercises. They will have great communication skills with the ability to interact and organise individuals, small groups or larger groups. Given the varied training schedule based around matches, they will have a flexible approach to working within this environment and will embrace the challenges professional football may present.
