Leicester City defender Jonny Evans reached the landmark of 80 appearances for his country as Northern Ireland claimed a late victory over Belarus.

An 86th-minute goal from Paddy McNair gave Michael O’Neill’s side their fourth-straight qualifying win on Tuesday night. 

Evans' nation now sit top of Group C with a 100 per cent record in UEFA EURO 2020 qualifying.

Earlier in the evening, Foxes youngster Sidnei Tavares started for Portugal Under-18s in a friendly against Norway Under-18s.

The Norwegians earned a 1-0 victory against their hosts, as Tavares registered a second cap in the space of three days. 

Elsewhere, Danny Ward and Çağlar Söyüncü were unused substitutes for Wales and Turkey respectively. 

Ryan Giggs' Wales were beaten 1-0 by Hungary in Budapest, while Turkey lost 2-1 to Iceland at Laugardalsvöllur in Reykjavik following a double from Ragnar Sigurdsson.

On Monday, meanwhile, Kasper Schmeichel’s Denmark beat Georgia 5-1 in their UEFA EURO 2020 qualifier.

Three days after the Leicester City stopper helped his country to a 1-1 draw against Ireland, Schmeichel earned his 47th international cap for the Danes.
