The Foxes head to Glanford Park to tackle the Sky Bet League 2 outfit in their maiden pre-season friendly ahead of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.

Following a week of intense fitness work in Évian-les-Bains, Morgan and his team-mates are looking forward to the prospect of playing matches.

"That’s the first game of our pre-season and we obviously want to do well so it’s good," the 35-year-old centre-back said.

"We have to remember that it’s about building on our fitness so there’s the side of it where we want to win, compete, and give it our all, but we need to build in the right way.

"It’s all about getting game time and we’ve got plenty of other games in pre-season to build on minutes and get our match fitness up."

With City's home league opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers now less than a month away, excitement is building among Brendan Rodgers' squad.

Morgan says the work done now will act as foundations for the Foxes to build upon as they strive to enjoy a successful campaign under the Northern Irishman's management.

"This is the first step of where we need to be ahead of the new season," the skipper added.

"Everyone misses the Premier League and the games so, definitely for the players and the fans, we can’t wait for it to begin.

"It’s only a month before we get started and we just need to continue working so, come the start of the season, we should be where we need to be."

Don't forget, live and free LCFC TV coverage of the match in Scunthorpe will be available on Tuesday night from 7pm BST.
