Leicester City Development Squad defender Sam Hughes has joined League Two side Salford City on a season-long loan deal.

- Defender will spend the 2019/20 campaign with the League Two outfit
- Youngster has featured in every Development Squad game this season.
- Hughes joined the Foxes in the summer of 2017 from Chester.

The 22-year-old joined the Foxes on a three-year contract in the summer of 2017 from Chester, where he was named the Club’s player of the season.

He made his Leicester debut in a Checkatrade Trophy game against Fleetwood Town in August of the same year and impressed for the Club’s Under-23s.

Hughes has been involved in all four of City’s Premier League 2 fixtures this season and started for the Foxes in their win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday.

Promoted to the EFL for the first time in their history last season, Graham Alexander’s Salford side currently sit in 16th place in the fourth tier.
