Leicester City debutant James Justin expressed his delight after making his maiden appearance for the Club during a 4-0 win against former side Luton Town.

- James Justin labelled Leicester City’s 4-0 victory over Luton Town as ‘a great team performance’
- Justin was one of four goalscorers during the Carabao Cup Third Round tie
- The Foxes right-back enjoyed his ‘wonderful’ return to Kenilworth Road, where he rose through the ranks as a youngster

Tuesday night’s tie at Kenilworth Road resulted in a commanding triumph for Brendan Rodgers’ outfit, who scored twice in both halves to seal a fourth-round berth.

Justin, who grabbed City’s second strike of the night, was thrilled to mark his first outing in Leicester colours with a goal on debut.

Justin told LCFC TV: “It’s basically what I was dreaming of the night before, and I’m just happy to go out there and show everyone what I can do.

“It’s a great performance by the team and I’m happy to get on the scoresheet as well.

“It (the atmosphere) was a bit overwhelming. I tried to block it out at the start, but at the end, when we were a few goals up, I started to let it in. It was just wonderful to be back.”

While elated to net his first goal for the Club, Justin was keen to underline the value of his side’s second clean sheet of 2019/20.

“Me and Youri [Tielemans] tried it once in pre-season but it didn’t come off, but as soon as I saw him in that space, I just knew that he’d find me,” said Justin of his goal. “I just tried to get a solid connection on the ball and luckily it went it. I’m happy to score.

“I tried my hardest not to celebrate to obviously respect my home club. It was a really nice reception from all the fans, and I’m grateful.

It took a team performance, especially Wardy’s (Danny Ward) save. It was at 3-0 and that kept us in it. It was a good performance.

“Obviously, it’s nice to get on the scoresheet, but as a defender, we’ve got to keep the ball out of the net, so I’m glad to have done it.

“It took a team performance, especially Wardy’s (Danny Ward) save. It was at 3-0 and that kept us in it. It was a good performance.”

Foxes fans can hear more from James Justin on Friday afternoon, when he makes a special appearance on Matchday Minus Two prior to Sunday’s clash with Newcastle United.

The broadcast will begin at 12:30pm BST, and can be viewed on LCFC.com, Twitter and Facebook for free.
