Barnes, who joined the Club in 2007, has quickly settled into life playing for City's first team and scored the Premier League's Goal of the Month at Sheffield United in August.
With the Foxes hoping to secure a fourth league victory of the season, the 21-year-old caught up with CITY Matchday Magazine in the week to preview Sunday's fixture against Newcastle United.
After a magnificent King Power Stadium atmosphere inspired Leicester to victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Barnes believes the Blue Army could once again play a crucial role this weekend.
"It’s great when the atmosphere is like that," the Countesthorpe-based midfielder said. "You could tell from kick-off that the crowd were really up for it – as they are every week.
"If you go a goal ahead and the crowd is still rocking, it pushes you on to get another. Whichever way the game goes, if the atmosphere is there, it can really affect our performance as a team."
