About The Role

The Premier League Kicks programme is a flagship targeted project which uses the power of football and sports participation, alongside personal development activities, to help hard-to-reach youngsters in some of the most high-need areas.

The Senior Kicks Coordinator will be integral to the successful delivery and growth of the Kicks programme across Leicester and Leicestershire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day coordination and development of the Kicks programme, leading a dedicated team and supporting the wider LCitC team to deliver a number of programmes across the Leicestershire area including coordination of our Inclusive Practice team funded largely through PL Kicks. 

In addition, the post holder will also have front line delivery responsibility, engaging with local young people, leading on the delivery of sports participation and youth engagement sessions, and the delivery of educational workshops in the local community.

Skills required for success:

- Ability to engage with young people, with experience of working within a community setting.
- Ability to form strong and appropriate relationships, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Planning and organisational skills to support high quality interventions and activities.
- Ability to remain clam, de-escalate conflict and manage challenging behaviour.

Essential requirements:

- Level 2 Sports Coaching and/or Level 2 Youth Work qualification or above
- Experience of planning and delivering youth focussed sport and physical activity sessions in a community environment
- Experience of working with young people in a community setting and a track record of engaging participants from hard to reach backgrounds and underrepresented groups.
- Knowledge and understanding of young people and the challenges that they face
- Experience of coordinating and developing high quality youth engagement programmes.
- Knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation Processes
- Available and committed to working a minimum of three evenings per week
- Must satisfy relevant pre-employment checks including enhanced DBS check
- Ability to travel across multiple sites

Contract Type – 12-month fixed term contract
Hours Per Week
– 37.5. You will be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends.
