Leicester City are seeking a number of Level 2 qualified coaches to run U7/8 regional development centres.

Background to the Club

Leicester City Football Club, also known as the Foxes, is a top-flight English football club, in their sixth consecutive season in the Premier League. In 2015/16, ranked as 5000-1 outsiders, Leicester City were crowned Premier League champions. 

In 2010, the Club was bought by Asian Football Investments, a Thai-led consortium fronted by King Power’s founder and Chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. The stadium was named King Power Stadium in 2011 and one year later in 2012, King Power International became sole owners of the Club.

About The Role 

Following a restructure of our Development Centres, Leicester City are seeking a number of Level 2 qualified coaches to run U7/8 regional development centres. Operating for two hours one evening a week, the centres are located in Derby, Nottingham, Leicester x2, Coventry and Northampton. The successful candidates will have a thorough knowledge of local grass roots football, the ability to identify potential in young players and development their technical ability with a view to being signed as an U9 player.

All of the positions will also have the opportunity to coach additional paid sessions within the Pre-Academy.

Supporting the Lead Coach, this role will plan and deliver high quality sessions to the players. Through local contacts, and the scouting of games, they successful applicants will contribute to the identification, recruitment and assessment of players into the Development Centre.

Key duties of the role include:

- To plan and deliver the sessions
- To ensure the quality of delivery meets Academy expectations and philosophy
- To build strong relationships with players, parents and grass roots clubs
- Scout games as required by the Academy

Who We’re Looking For 

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 2 Certificate in Coaching along with previous experience in Academy football. They have will have excellent communication skills and possess strong time management skills and have a flexible approach to work.
