Belgium star Youri Tielemans believes Leicester City’s success so far this term is borne out of a strong bond forged between the Club’s players, management and backroom staff.

Tielemans, who joined the Football Club in the summer on a permanent deal from AS Monaco after a successful loan spell last season, has featured in all 19 of the Foxes fixtures this term.

The City No.8 feels Leicester’s excellent run of form can be put down to a foundation that was built in pre-season, as well as the influence of manager Brendan Rodgers.

“I think it’s pretty basic, but I’d say hard work,” said Tielemans when asked about the key to City’s success this term. “We’ve worked hard in pre-season, we’ve created a very good bond with the players.

“[We’ve got] very, very, very good players, very good potential, a very good manager who can create a good atmosphere let’s say, and yes, afterwards it’s just up to us.

The Belgian has scored five times for the Foxes in 2019/20.

“We know what we have to do on the pitch, and we try to keep pushing forward and keep pushing ourselves in training. We work hard and we try and do it on the pitch as well.”

Under Rodgers, the Foxes have won 12 out of a possible 16 Premier League matches, and next week will contest a Carabao Cup Quarter-Final tie against Everton at Goodison Park.

Explaining the characteristics Rodgers has, Tielemans said: “I think he’s the type of manager who tries to adapt himself to the players he has.

“I think it’s very good because he knows what he could create here and that’s what he’s doing at the moment and we are doing very good under him because we try to press forward, to play offensive football and to try and keep the defence very strong.

“At the moment it’s working very well, and we just have to keep it like that.”

Every game is different, every game is difficult, so it will be all about us. We play at home and we will try to win. We will try our best to make the fans enjoy the game and to try and win it as well.

City’s next challenge, however, arrives in the form of a Premier League encounter with Norwich City at King Power Stadium, as they attempt to extend their winning run to 10 games all competitions.

“I know we have great potential in the team, we have very good players and we want to improve every day,” he added.

“Every game we try to do better. The team is fantastic at the moment and we just have to keep it that way and try to win many more games.
