Brendan Rodgers’ men head to Turf Moor on Sunday to contest their 23rd Premier League fixture of 2019/20 aspiring to bounce back from their 2-1 reverse against Southampton.

Söyüncü, 23, is hoping City can begin a similar run to the one that saw them win a Club-record eight Premier League games on the spin from October to December, with a triumph against Burnley coming right at the start of that sequence.

“I’d say it’s too early to speak,” said Söyüncü when asked about the prospect of European qualification. “There are still 15 or 16 weeks to go.

“We are doing our best and we will be trying even harder. We had started with a win against Burnley and we won quite a few games.

“Let’s hope that we win our next game against Burnley again and we can kick-start [our form in] the league again.”

The Foxes No.4 has been heavily involved in the Premier League this season, and says the key for him has been carrying what he has been learning in training into each match.

If you work hard in training, you will do well when you play against these teams.

“It’s all to do with how you train,” he added. “I try to give 100 per cent at training and I try to fulfil all of the tasks that have been given to me.

“When you go on the pitch to play against these teams and in training, they’re very similar positions and situations.
