Leicester City legend Steve Walsh recently drew out the name of Greentowers FC Hinckley to win a player escort package at King Power Stadium as part of the FA Charter Standard initiative!

- Greentowers FA Hinckley win a player escort opportunity at a Leicester City home fixture
- They were selected at random by Steve Walsh as part of a FA Charter Standard competition
- Ahead of Aston Villa's visit to King Power Stadium, they'll walk out with their Foxes heroes
- The Club has worked closely with the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA to support the scheme

The Foxes icon was on hand on Filbert Way for the official draw, which was designed to reward one grassroots football club for their efforts throughout the current season.

Clubs accredited to the FA Charter Standard are expected to maintain the high standards which the programme represents, ensuring they provide an environment perfect for player development.

To inspire the next generation of players at grassroots level across the region, the Club teamed up with the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA to provide a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Selected at random, Walsh picked out Greentowers FC Hinckley, who provide training to children aged between three and 15, amounting to approximately 350 local boys and girls of all abilities.

They’re going to walk out with their heroes at Leicester City. Charter Standard clubs offer the best places for young people to play and enjoy their football.

As a result, participants from the Hinckley-based club will visit King Power Stadium and escort Brendan Rodgers' first team onto the pitch ahead of Aston Villa's visit on Monday 9 March.

"We’re working with Leicester City to incentivise and support those clubs," said Shaun Waite, Football Development Officer at the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA.

"They’re going to walk out with their heroes at Leicester City. Charter Standard clubs offer the best places for young people to play and enjoy their football.

"They ensure there’s a qualified coach on every football pitch, and they have their governance, their policies and their finances all in place off the pitch as well.

"So, we’re confident those clubs are the best places to go for young people to play football."
