Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the Gunners ahead midway through the first half and, following a period of pressure, City hit back through Jamie Vardy's 22nd top-flight goal of 2019/20.

While Mikel Arteta's hosts were reduced to 10 men before Leicester's equaliser, Rodgers believed his side were good value for at least a point before benefiting from a numerical advantage.

It brought an end to a run of 12 consecutive defeats for the Foxes away at Arsenal and extends their lead over fifth-placed Manchester United in the table to four points with four to play.

"Someone just said it was only the second point in the history of the Premier League here for Leicester [at Arsenal]," Rodgers told LCFC TV at full-time. "I thought we fully deserved it.

"I thought, [in] the first half, we started the game well, [for the] first 10 minutes. But then we conceded the goal and then, from that, we had a 15/20-minute spell where we conceded too much space.

"[We] gathered some momentum again towards the end of the half. We had to adjust a few defensive items in the first half, attacking items… but then [in the] second half, 11 vs. 11, I thought we were very good."

Youngster Eddie Nketiah was dismissed for a challenge on James Justin in the second period, but the Northern Irishman was pleased with the nature of City's performance throughout the second half.

We came here and, like I said, we wanted to win the game, but we don’t. We take a point and we move on.

"It looked like we were going to get the goal, but I was really pleased with how we kept going," he added, commenting on Leicester's tactical discipline.

"Our positioning game was good. It went 11 vs. 10 and it’s never easy against 10 players in the final third of the pitch, but we showed great patience [and] got there in the end.

"Then, just with maybe a better final pass, we could’ve won the game, but like I say, Arsenal are in very, very good form.
