- Midfielder Remi Allen speaks to LCFC TV after joining LCFC Women this summer
- The former Reading star is one of several new faces to join the Club
- Allen hopes her experiences in the Women's Super League can help City this term
- The 29-year-old is also thrilled to have signed for her hometown club
The experienced box-to-box midfielder, capped at Under-19s and Under-23s level for England, brings a wealth of experience to the Club, having won the League Cup with Leeds Carnegie.
Also a UEFA Women's Champions League semi-finalist with Birmingham City during her career, Allen joined the Foxes from Women's Super League outfit Reading earlier this summer.
Ahead of the new campaign, LCFC Women's first as part of Leicester City's portfolio of professional teams, the 29-year-old is excited to start a new journey with her hometown club.
"I'm really excited," she told LCFC TV this month. "Obviously, it's my hometown club, so it's a bit of a unique situation for me.
"I never thought I'd get the opportunity to come back and be a professional footballer here, so I'm really, really excited and I can't wait for the season to get started.
"To be honest with you, it was just the overall ambition of the Club which attracted me and the direction the Club's going. They want to do things the right way.
"They want to treat people the right way and the long-term aim was what really drew me to the Club. It's a great opportunity to be a part of.
"Joining my hometown club, you know, it was just a bit of a dream come true to come back."
Allen also hopes her experiences, which include receiving call-ups to the Lionesses over recent seasons, can help her have a positive impact on a youthful Foxes squad this term.
"That's part of the reason to come back, as an experienced senior player," she added. "I think, hopefully, with my knowledge and experience, I can help some of the youngsters.
"I can hopefully help their integration into full-time football having done it for so long now, I definitely think that's something that I can add to the Club.
"You can't take that [experience] away once you've had it, and I've learned so much throughout my career.
"I still don't class myself as being too old or past it yet, but at the age I'm at, I definitely think I've got a lot to add in terms of experience, knowledge what I deliver as a footballer as well."
