City welcome Blackburn Rovers to Farley Way Stadium on Sunday afternoon (2pm BST kick-off) on the opening weekend of action in the second tier of the women's game.

Levell, capped at Under-17s, Under-19s and Under-23s level by England, is optimistic about Leicester's chances in the Championship this term after joining the Club earlier this summer.

"It's really exciting," the former Everton shot-stopper told LCFC TV. "I think we all know the goal, at the end of the day. Obviously, it's promotion, we're not afraid to say that.

"We know we've got a team that can do it, hence the recruitment. I think we've recruited really well. Along with the old players, we've got experience and young ones.

"We've got a good variety throughout and our mindset's just on promotion. It's very intense in training, it's very competitive between ourselves and again, it just comes back to promotion.

"We've set a goal and we want to get there."

Birkenhead-born Levell was keen to stress that LCFC Women will not allow their ambitions to become overconfidence this year as they bid to compete at the top of the division.

"I think we're just looking at each team each week," she added. "We're not underestimating anyone, we're not taking any teams for granted in this league, you can't.

"I think [we're] very excited to play Blackburn. We're going [to try] to get our first three points and then build from that.

We all want the same thing. We want to achieve the same thing this season.

"We've done quite a lot of the team bonding, which is really good, [it's] brought us together."

The close-knit nature of LCFC Women's squad, meanwhile, has helped several new faces, including Levell, settle in quickly, says the 23-year-old 'keeper.

"For me, and a few of the new ones, we knew each other from England camps et cetera and I think everyone's just really welcome," she continued.

"There's not really any cliques, which you see in other clubs, so [I'm] happy to just come in, be one big environment and, again, we just look to our goal.

"We all want the same thing. We want to achieve the same thing this season."
