The Foxes entertain Rovers at Farley Way Stadium on Sunday (2pm kick-off) as the new FA Women’s Championship season gets underway in Quorn.

Littlejohn, a new signing from Women’s Super League outfit West Ham United Women, suffered an Achilles injury earlier in the summer, but is now available for selection.

“It’s very good so far,” Morgan said. “We’re very pleased with our fitness this season. We came into pre-season knowing that we had a couple of girls that had injuries to start with.

[Cain] came in with a broken toe, so she won’t be back anytime soon, but that was a big step (her operation). It’s allowed us to have an end goal now, so we know when she’ll be back in, so they’re both well and truly on their recovery process, and I’m very pleased from that point of view.

“Ruesha picked up an Achilles injury this summer, but she’s back fully-fit, which is a fantastic boost. It was more about a management of loading for her which is settled now.”

Elsewhere, midfielder Ashleigh Plumptre (foot) and forward Hannah Cain (toe) are likely to remain out with injuries of their own ahead of the season’s opening weekend.

“Ashleigh came in with a tendon injury in her foot,” Morgan explained, speaking to LCFC TV ahead of training earlier this week.

“It’s a bio-mechanical injury, so there’s nothing wrong as such, it’s just about correcting her structure and we’re on the right path with that now.”

On Cain’s condition, he added: “She came in with a broken toe, so she won’t be back anytime soon, but that was a big step (her operation).

“It’s allowed us to have an end goal now, so we know when she’ll be back in, so they’re both well and truly on their recovery process, and I’m very pleased from that point of view.

“Apart from them, we expect to have a fully-fit squad for Blackburn.”
