Following the launch of an exciting new project, Leicester City in the Community has a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our dynamic team.

About The Role

The newly-formed Match Fit project aims to work with partner organisations to deliver shared objectives around increasing physical and wellbeing levels amongst the most inactive residents of Leicester and Leicestershire, focusing on adults.  

Working as the Health and Wellbeing Coordinator you will be responsible for managing the Health and Wellbeing Coaches as part of the Match Fit programme, coordinating the delivery of projects and lead of delivery of mental health first aid and wellbeing workshops to participants.

Key duties of the role are:

  • Coordinate and evaluate the impact measures associated with the delivery of Healthy Goals, Healthy Minds project, and ensure robust systems are in place to record physical activity and wellbeing levels
  • Support the work with key stakeholders and Leicester City in the Community’s ‘Insight, Impact and External Funding Manager’ to identify funding for new areas of ‘health and wellbeing’ work, to match fund existing streams, to sustain and further develop existing ‘health and wellbeing’ projects
  • Support, manage and develop staff working across ‘health and wellbeing’ programmes (targets, one-to-ones, personal development portfolios)
  • Monitor finances (including income & expenditure) for all ‘health and wellbeing’ programmes and projects

Skills required for success: 

  • Hold relevant professional qualifications in physical activity and wellbeing or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Relevant experience of engaging with adults in a community setting
  • Experience of delivering and coordinating wellbeing interventions to engage adults using sport
  • Experience of engaging underrepresented groups including female, BAME, and disabled participants
  • Experience of managing a staff team  
  • Must satisfy relevant pre-employment checks including enhanced DBS check 

Contract Type – 12-month fixed-term contract
Hours Per Week
– 37.5, you may be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends.

Location – LCitC is based at King Power Stadium, Leicester. The delivery of sessions with take part at partner locations, therefore you will need the ability to travel across multiple sites across Leicester and Charnwood. You may need to travel to multiple sites within one day.
