Bailey-Gayle's first-half opener was followed by another from Lachante Paul at Farley Way Stadium, before Jess Clarke got one back for the Reds later on.
City's second win from the opening four league games this term leaves them fifth in the early standings and Bailey-Gayle, 18, says they are keen to build on it now.
"The dressing room is bouncing," she told LCFC TV. "We’re happy to get the win against a club like Liverpool and to take points off them because, obviously, they’re title contenders.
"We can’t wait to get onto the next game now. It’s a great confidence boost because we’ve been working hard. In pre-season, we played big teams and got results.
"It’s a massive platform for us. Now we’ve done this, we know our benchmark and we’re just going to keep pushing in every game this season to reach the level we did today.
"We knew we had the ability and the physicality but we just had to find it in our hearts to win, so we fought hard today and obviously got the result, which is the best feeling in the world."
Bailey-Gayle was also thrilled to play her own part in getting the Foxes back to winning ways following a 2-2 draw with Durham at Farley Way Stadium a week earlier.
"Obviously last week, we got the draw against Durham, but this means so much to us so this is the start of the season again for us and we’ll try and get three points next week," she added.
"Es (Esmee De Graaf) crossed it in and I’ve been working on it all week, taking a touch and shooting, so I hoped for the best and looked for the top corner.
"I was buzzing to get a goal for the team and put us ahead. It’s my first one of the season so I was really happy with that too."
